We Want To See

As we get closer to 2022, we can’t help but be grateful for the shows we saw in 2021, and start getting excited about who we’re seeing next year. From concert-starved fans trying to cop tickets in a high-demand market, hoping shows didn’t get cancelled as new covid varieties emerged, to the exciting relief of finally making it to the night of show, it’s safe to say 2021 was a ride. One thing for sure is fans and artists are hungry for more, and there are plenty of amazing tours to look forward to!

The Weeknd - After Hours Til Dawn Stadium Tour

Originally scheduled for 2021, it was pushed to summer 2022 due to covid restrictions. While this may feel like a long time to wait for the tour in support of his 2020 album After Hours, we may be in for a treat. His Super Bowl performance proved that a spectacle of this grandeur is fit for a larger stage. After all, we’re expecting to see hits like Blinding Lights, which has reached over 2.7 billion streams on Spotify

Dua Lipa Future Nostalgia Tour 2022

Dua Lipa - The Future Nostalgia Tour

Dua Lipa released her sophomore album Future Nostalgia in March 2020, right when the world closed down. This didn’t stop her from delivering one of the strongest performing pop records in recent years, and from giving us one of the best virtual performances while venues remained shuttered. In November 2020, Dua Lipa hosted a livestream event called Studio 2054, and set the world record for most tickets sold for a livestreamed concert by a solo female artist that year with a total of 284,000 tickets sold.

In summer 2021, “Levitating” was still topping the charts, and it’s the No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 Song of the Year.

“I’m so thrilled to tour again and see my angels in person! How amazing that we all get to dance and celebrate together once again,” Dua Lipa said in a statement.

Tyler The Creator Call Me If Your Get Lost Tour 2022

Tyler, The Creator - Call Me If Your Get Lost Tour

In support of his 2021 album, Call Me If You Get Lost, Tyler is set to get his passport stamped up across North America between February and April 2022. His itinerary of support artists are Kali Uchis, Vince Staples, and Texas rapper Teezo Touchdown. 

Kali Uchis released her album Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) in fall 2020, and Vince Staples recently released his self-titled album in summer 2021. Teezo Touchdown is featured on the track “RunItUp” in Call Me If You Get Lost.

In November 2021, Tyler performed “Massa” at the American Music Awards. The set was a dark, snowy scene in front of a house that ended with a scooter driving on scene, Tyler hopping on the back with his luggage and riding off the set. We’re expecting nothing less than his elaborate stage performances, and a celebration of escapism during these times.

Lorde The Solar Power World Tour 2022

Lorde - The Solar Power Tour

In support of her third full-length album, Solar Power, released in August, Lorde will tour internationally and perform in venues including outdoor amphitheatres. The New Zealand-born artist took a four-year hiatus after her gloomy sophomore album Melodrama, and delivered a light-hearted yet introspective album, with the sun-kissed “Solar Power” as its first single.

“The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalizing the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors,” Lorde said in a statement. “In times of heartache, grief, deep love, or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I’ve learned to breathe out, and tune in. This is what came through.”

Tame Impala - Slow Rush Tour

Kevin Parker and his band have expanded their 2021 tour in continued support of their latest album The Slow Rush, released in February 2020. The arena tour also includes a few headlining festival dates, including Hangout Music Festival in Alabama, Primavera Sound Festival in Spain, and Rock En Seine in France.

Billie Eilish Happier Than Ever World Tour 2022

Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever, The World Tour

In the beginning of the covid outbreak, Billie Eilish played only three shows in March on her 2020 Where Do We Go? World Tour before postponing and then canceling the tour that December, explaining that no alternative solutions were available due to the pandemic.

In July 2021, the young artist released her anticipated sophomore album Happier Than Ever. “This is my favorite thing i’ve ever created and i am so excited and nervous and EAGER for you to hear it,” she shared on social media.

In support of the new album, the LA native will tour the world in continued partnership with REVERB, a sustainability nonprofit that makes concerts greener. On their website, REVERB states: “Billie is committed to reducing her tour’s environmental footprint and increasing its positive impact. REVERB is working with Billie and her touring crew to meet their goals with efforts including: Recycling, reusable water bottles, and water refill stations.”

2020 was a big year for Bad Bunny. He released two albums, YHLQMDLG, and El Último Tour Del Mundo. He was Spotify’s most streamed artist that year, and he made history with the release of El Último Tour Del Mundo as the first-ever No. 1 Spanish-language album on Billboard’s album chart

Even in the middle of covid, fans were eager to secure their chance to see the Reggaeton megastar. Bad Bunny's El Último Tour del Mundo 2022 was Ticketmaster’s fastest selling tour since 2018 with 480,000 tickets sold in less than a week.

Haim - The One More Haim Tour

Haim’s covid-delayed tour in support of their Grammy-nominated 2020 album Women in Music Pt. III, is finally set for the new year. The San Fernando Valley sisters will play a hometown show at the Hollywood Bowl in May 2022.

In July, the trio released a song called “Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache” on the soundtrack to the Netflix film The Last Letter From Your Lover.

Justin Bieber Justice World Tour 2022

Fans haven’t seen Justin Bieber on tour since his Purpose World Tour in 2016 running through 2017. When the Justice Tour went on sale, 31 of the announced shows sold out on the morning of the on-sale. Originally scheduled for 2020, then postponed to kickoff this summer, it was again pushed to 2022 with the addition of new international dates. 

The Justice World Tour is in support of his latest album Justice, released in March 2021.This year in August, he broke the all-time record for monthly listeners on Spotify with over 83 million.

In July 2020, Bieber announced, “Looking forward to seeing you all when it is safe.”

Olivia Rodrigo - Sour World Tour

In December 2021, the singer-songwriter announced a massive 2022 world tour in support of her breakout debut album, Sour, released in May. The 18-year-old tweeted “SOUR TOUR IS FINALLY HAPPENING!!!” Despite her excitement, fans were calling her team out for booking small venues for her international tour after tickets sold out quickly. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Olivia Rodrigo addressed her decision to not immediately headline arenas on her first world tour. “I don’t think I should skip any steps,” she said.

In an instagram post, she wrote: “SOUR TOUR is sold out! Been waiting so long to perform these songs live. This is my very first tour and I’m so nervous but so excited to sing and dance the night away with you all! If you weren’t able to get tickets this time around there will be more tours in the future and I can’t wait to see you then!!! Thank u to all my incredible fans. Love u guys sm ahhh here we goooo!”

Olivia Rodrigo’s debut single “Drivers License” was the top streamed song of 2021, both in the U.S. and worldwide. The young artist earned seven Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist, Album of the Year for Sour, and Record and Song of the Year for “Drivers License.”
